Quantifying pesticide emission fractions for tropical conditions
نویسندگان
چکیده
The inventory model ‘PestLCI Consensus’, originally developed for temperate conditions, estimates initial pesticide emission fractions to air, off-field surfaces by drift deposition, and field crop soil according foliar interception characteristics. Since characteristics application techniques differ in tropical these aspects need be included the support of evaluating emissions under conditions. Based on published literature, a consistent set was as function spraying crops. In addition, we derived deposition from experiments specifically conducted Finally, compiled life cycle assessment (LCA). Foliar are strongly influenced technique, particularly hand-operated applications. Drift were air blast sprayer papaya coffee, boom bean soybean, aerial sorghum, millet, corn cotton, cotton. Emission vary each combination method. curves missing crop-application method combinations can only partly extrapolated considered combinations. Overall, our proposed various crops grown conditions allow estimate assessing environmental performance agrifood systems LCA with focus regions.

متن کاملQuantifying the magnetic nature of light emission.
Tremendous advances in the study of magnetic light-matter interactions have recently been achieved using man-made nanostructures that exhibit and exploit an optical magnetic response. However, naturally occurring emitters can also exhibit magnetic resonances in the form of optical-frequency magnetic-dipole transitions. Here we quantify the magnetic nature of light emission using energy- and mom...
متن کاملApplication of the Triangular Model in quantifying landfill gas emission from municipal solid wastes
Municipal solid waste landfills are significant parts of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions. The emission of significant amount of landfill gas has generated considerable interest in quantifying such emissions. The chemical composition of the organic constituents and potential amount of landfill gas that can be derived from the waste were determined. The chemical formulae for the rapidly bi...
متن کاملEmission metrics for quantifying regional climate impacts of aviation
This study examines the impacts of emissions from aviation in six source regions on global and regional temperatures. We consider the NOx-induced impacts on ozone and methane, aerosols and contrailcirrus formation and calculate the global and regional emission metrics global warming potential (GWP), global temperature change potential (GTP) and absolute regional temperature change potential (AR...
